It must be love, love love… and there’s a lot of love in the nursery this month!
VALENTINE’S DAY, February 14th, is recognised as a significant cultural and commercial celebration in many regions around the world. While we know we should love and appreciate each other all-year-round, Valentine’s Day gives us the perfect opportunity to teach the children all about loving and caring for each other! They will be busy making gifts, creating cards, reading love rhymes, singing songs… all to celebrate this warm occasion.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US! February 17th is also a very special day, as we celebrate our 3rd birthday!! Lots of exciting activities planned in our ‘Birthday Bonanza’ week to celebrate – all will be announced in next week’s Monkey News, and we look forward to celebrating it with you x
BABIES – This week will be creating some beautiful sensory trays with romantic pinks, purples and reds… and of course, with lots of flowers, hearts and sparkles…!
TEENIES – Our Teenies have been working hard on their ‘Valentines board’… check it out when you are next in the room!
To celebrate this romantic time of the year Teenies will be singing ”Love Song” nursery rhymes and creating wonderful ‘love-themed’ artwork.
TODDLERS – Will be decorating the room with Valentines bunting created by the children! As we will be visiting Paris this month the Todd’s are going to create the French flag and putting their artistic skills to the test.
Pre-School – Will be looking at the creation of experiments and how things ‘work’.
As the ‘unique stories’ activity worked so well last week, and the children let their imaginations run wild, we will continue encouraging them to create their own stories using their very creative minds…. of course, including stories about love, relationships and caring for people.
